Our Values

Our whole school community came together to decide our key Christian values that guide all that we endeavour to do. In our school we live by our values; even our youngest children will be able to tell you how they demonstrate the values in their everyday lives.

Our values are threaded through all aspects of school life including the curriculum, collective worship and our behaviour management system.

People who visit our school tell us that they can see and feel the impact of our Christian values which are:

Being Caring To each other, ourselves, our school and our world.
Commitment to Achieve In everything we do in order to fulfil our potential.
Respect For ourselves, each other and our world.
Co-operation To help us achieve our common goals.
Honesty To remind us to do the right thing.
Fairness To be fair to ourselves, our friends and our world.

Church Links

Market Rasen Church of England Primary School caters for children of all religion and no religion.

We are a Voluntarily Controlled (VC) Church of England School. As such we are part of the wider church schools family. We have an inspection every 3 years to judge how successful we are as a Church School. In our last inspection in 2012 we were judged to be an outstanding Church School.

Some of the things that make us distinctive as a Church of England school include:

  • Daily Collective Worship
  • Weekly Choral Worship (Singing Assembly)
  • Weekly contact with the Local Vicar, Reverend Steve Johnson.
  • Participation in Church School events like the Church Schools Festival.
  • Frequent services held at St Thomas Church for days such as Harvest, Mothering Sunday, Christingle, Christmas and our leavers service.
  • Representation of the Church on our Governing Body
  • Following our values of being caring, respect, commitment to achieve, honesty, co-operation, and fairness.
  • Having a Collective Worship council who help us to plan, deliver and evaluate our collective worship.
  • Having a emphasis on high quality Religious Education

Prayer in School

Prayer is important in our Christian Community. Children are given the opportunity to pray in school. This could be in Collective Worship, under our peace window, at our attractive prayer space, in one of our many class reflection areas or in one of our outdoor gardens.  In the main entrance you will find a prayer book, written by the Collective Worship Council, with prayers for the school day. Click here for a copy of the prayer book.

Our School Prayer

This is our school.

Let peace dwell here,

Let the rooms be full of contentment,

Let love abide here,

Love of one another,

Love of mankind,

Love of life itself,

And love of God.

Let us remember

That, as many hands build a house,

So many hearts make a school

North Wolds Federation

The North Wolds Federation is a proud collaboration between our school and Nettleton Community Primary School. The Federation shares key staff, including our Executive Head Teacher, special needs co-ordinator, subject leaders and specialist teachers. The best thing about our Federation is that our children have many opportunities to make new friends with the children at our partner school on special days, curriculum visits and residential trips.

More information about this partnership can be found at www.northwoldsfederation.co.uk
