History of Our School

The school that we now call Market Rasen Church of England Primary School was opened as Market Rasen National School in 1822 on Willingham Road. In 1968 a separate Infants school was opened on Pasture Lane. In 1869 a new Girls school was opened and the existing school became the boys school. In 1907 the boys school became known as Market Rasen CE school and in 1932 the separate schools were reorganised into one school. Our current site used to house The Market Rasen Secondary Modern school which moved to De Aston's site in 1974. As this point Market Rasen C of E Primary took over that site we now use.  Between 2010 and now every classroom in the school has been fully refurbished.

Our Christian Values

Our whole school community came together to decide our key Christian values that guide all that we endeavour to do. In our school we live by our values; even our youngest children will be able to tell you how they demonstrate the values in their everyday lives.

Our values are threaded through all aspects of school life including the curriculum, collective worship and our positive behaviour management system.

Being Caring To each other, ourselves, our school and our world.
Commitment to Achieve                      In everything we do in order to fulfil our potential.
Respect For ourselves, each other and our world.
Co-operation To help us achieve our common goals.
Honesty To remind us to do the right thing.
Fairness To be fair to ourselves, our friends and our world.

People who visit our school tell us that they can see and feel the impact of our values which have their roots in the Holy Bible. To explore how our values are rooted in the bible follow the link below.

North Wolds Federation

The North Wolds Federation is a proud collaboration between our school and Nettleton Community Primary School. The Federation shares key staff, including our Executive Head Teacher, special needs co-ordinator, subject leaders and specialist teachers. The best thing about our Federation is that our children have many opportunities to make new friends with the children at our partner school on special days, curriculum visits and residential trips.

More information about this partnership can be found at www.northwoldsfederation.co.uk
